I used to think money bought happiness…I still feel that way to a degree, but I’ve also realized more that the people you surround yourself with are what determines how happy you are, ultimately. All the money/cars/what-have-you, don’t really mean much if you have no one around you to share it with.
you make $75k a year? where do you work Beck?
I just simply want money and a family! Maybe some good close friends.
Money does not always, but definitively can buy happiness. Obviously there are many other circumstances that can determine happiness even when you have money but I have not met many unhappy wealthy people.
The family is one place where you can get shafted with money (divorce rapes your cash, kinds are liabilities and a fuckups) so thats one reason I feel family is important. Comfort is a huge thing and what is money if you have no one to share it with.
I think I will have enough money someday to keep myself happy. Even if I dont make partner, I still have a hard enough task based work ethic to get to where I want to be.
Actually, I’d like to start/own/operate an instructional/training company.
Spend another 10 years or so mastering different positions in the automotive dealership setting and then start a company that travels from state to state or dealership to dealership providing in-house or off-site training seminars for different positions within the dealership. (Sales, F&I, GM, Principles)
Like a Mike Overy, or Joe Verde.
I recently spent a week in NYC with a gentleman by the name of Shaun Bryant who runs a Company out of Salt Lake City called Instructional Solutions Inc.
He works for GMAC, Toyota/Lexus Financial Services, American Honda Finance, etc. and trains personnel about procedures and compliancy within the law.
I’m a finance and business manager at toyota dealership. I earn a salary but a majority of my earnings are based on how well the dealership performs as a whole and in my department.
It’s really nothing. There are people in my position at local dealerships that make $170k. It just depends on a lot of factors. In a couple years, I will have enough experience to have earned a pay-plan that will earn me $125k. From there, the possibilities are endless.
There are months where you make $20k. Others you might only make $3k. It depends.
I would like to be free. Material possessions mean little to me. I just have the need to live my life the way I choose, come and go as I please etc.
This is the most important thing I feel. You can have all the money in the world and be successful. However, if you don’t have the time to attend your kids soccer games…you suck.
Says the guy who only posts on NYSpeed to comment on how much money he makes… :io:
Granted its more than you made at 22. I wouldn’t brag about how much money I make. It’s not a lot. Especially in my field/career. I know there are shooter’s on nyspeed who make that in half a year. There are people I know that make that in a month. I don’t find it impressive.
It’s like a NFL player talking about how he earns $750k a year.
you fucking homo. aren’t you too old/successful for nyspeed? or does every post you make just seem that way? i would think a 30-something year old who is living extremely lavishly in atlanta and drives a white subaru station wagon would have something better do on his nights off.
if you post what you make per yr or hr on a forum, unless asked , you are a fucking tool
/story
 Beck you really do go out of your way to post how much you make constantly…hope you have that fall back career in place with the current state of the auto market…
i bet i make the smallest yearly income on nyspeed
i honestly couldnt be happier about it. life is great, i make due with what i have, and im really happy
what do i wish to achieve? i’d like to own a house someday and have some little jams. thats about it really
it was relative to the thread?
I can think of 10+ nyspeeders who make way more money than i do.
Impossible. I’ve never posted how much I make EVER. I just got my pay plan.
 you posted in the what do you do for a living that you got “75k raise”
Oddly enough you didn’t get a 75k raise since you just mentioned you currently make 75k…Unless you were previously making $0…thank god you handle financing.
I hope you don’t believe everything you hear on the news. I know everyone is all DOOM AND GLOOM about the current state of the economy but our business YTD is up from last year. Which was up from the year before.
To answer your question…I do. I have a PhD.
When I was toll collecting, I was making about $100 a week. :biglaugh:
I love you Joseph Mendola. I hope to see you soon. Everytime I stop by the Ritz, I am greeted by The Beast and Sachs. You’re always missing.
