This.
I owned a ton of s-10s, 2.2Ls and 4.3Ls. The 4.3L is a 350 minus two pistons lol. 2wd isn’t bad at all if you toss some weight in the bed. Snow tires and weight and you’ll be super golden. I’d stay away from Dakotas rangers are nice. Maybe a Cherokee?

Buy my E30
Jeep Cherokee or Grand cherokee?
Check out V&V motors on transit road in west seneca (near seneca street, there’s a bar and grille right there, kind of near altons) if you’re looking for a clean suv that is most likely southern
What about an older pathfinder/frontier/xterra?

Not a big fan of them, based on looks only lol.
The cherokee is a good suggestion, not a grand cherokee as I’m not into the looks again. So I’m kinda down to a cherokee, maybe a 96-00 civic sedan with options, s10/ranger if I can find one in my price range, what about VW? Theres a really sharp 03 passat wagon with 170k on it for like $2800 beans. It’s 1.8t with 5spd manual, too many miles?
can’t have your cake and eat it too, haha
A Jeep is a great suggestion. A few years back I got one for my future mother-in-law for 1700 bucks. It served her well for a year or so until she could get into something nicer/newer.
Haha, I’m seeing that. I might look into an auto loan from penfed and stretch the budget to 5 or 6k. Decisions decisions.
Parts are too expensive for a VW relative to the overall budget of your car. To keep them running right, cost you about 30% of the cost of the car every year, especially on a high mileage car. I loved my passat, but the monthly parts bill was approaching Bimmer payment territory.
X…
You could do a good, mostly reliable DD for this cost.
unlower civic, drive civic, done?
It’s a 93 hatch, they look terrible in stock form hahah. But mostly it’s too clean to drive through a winter.
what, are you saving it to later sell to Lingenfelter for their collection? it’s a civic, drive it. lolz. you’ve got the $3000 you didn’t spend to fix it now/later
