Their cooperation was announced today. A Diesel G35 with awesome gas mileage and great looks would be awesome
Will we get it in the US is the question though…
Nissan’s luxury brand, Infiniti, will launch a new compact car in 2014 using the same platform as Mercedes-Benz’s B-Class, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Infiniti also will use Daimler’s four and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines in its next generation G saloon from 2013 as it looks to grow sales in Europe where fuel-hungry V6 and V8 petrol engines are out of step with buying habits.
Most luxury diesels don’t get that good of gas mileage and they’re always WAY overpriced. I see MB and BMW diesels here all of the time. They’re all too expensive to be worth the minimal savings.
It’s better than what the gasoline model will do, but should it really impress me? It’s more expensive, and the small difference between MPGs wouldn’t be enough to get me paying for the diesel fuel and the cost upgrade. That stuff is expensive.
