As far as the networking side, it’s probably possible I’d imagine and if you started blantly abusing it you would probably be shutdown for a week or so.
As far calling Tech Support, they can see what the modem is set to. But most of the people there are too stupid to know what the word bandwidth means, let alone down or upsteam with exception of maybe 10% of the people there pretty much would apply to any cable carrier. And even then they really couldn’t do anything about it.
hmm your business doesnt have the business package then, cause thats bordering on speeds of a partial t line. Tell them to upgrade to the extreme package
i would say if you know nothing about this, a 5, there is alot involved, and alot of networking thigs going on, especially since adelphia uses md5 and tftp enforce, most other isps are very lax in security, but adelphia isnt. flashing takes 5 seconds, and getting sigma installed takes less.
As long as you don’t go too crazy with uncapping, really the only way they could tell at that point is when the modem boots and the DHCP logs are missing the fireware request/acknoledgement. And I’d highly doubt anyone would even notice that.
Without snmp though for the most part yeah they would be blind.
its really just a hobby for me, i like to mess with shit, but as far as everyday operation goes with adelphia. they cannnot tell im doing anything, thats what makes sigma so great.
lol u know adelphia really needs to hire folks who know what the fuck is going on, turns out they commisioned my old MAC to my new modem and on top of that they had me in the wrong ip range, lol dummies!!!. So now im finally where im supposed to be, and i also asked them about extreme, he said withen 6 months it should be here 59.00 a month 16/2
I suggest anyone who wants to buy a copy to purchase it (pre-order) from Amazon.com for $19.77.
That price is lower than I will ever be able to sell it for.
And for those of you who are hardcore fans of the site, this book has it ALL. Every single piece of cable modem hacking technology and information. It should be considered the single greatest source on the subject.
The book is over 25 chapters that include: diagrams, source code, unpublished hacking secrets, hacking tutorials for many non-surfboard modems, quick and easy reference guides. Enough information that would enpower its reader to conquer any cable modem.
I would pre-order it immediatly because this book “may” get pulled from shelves as a result from threatening ISP’s
i just ordered this, if ur interested on how this shit works or whatever id pre order one also
