Iq

i graduated with honors and went to georgetown for my masters (which i never finished once my scholarship ran up)… this is teh first year i made “real” money, i paid more in taxes this year than i made last year… my first year out i made 15k… and at least i was employed alot of my friends with degrees couldn’t even find work.

my boy just finished pitt engineering school and couldn’t find work in the city with an engineering degree; he joined the peace corp… it’s not what you know… it’s WHO you know

it is who you know

i made over 35k with 2 full years of college… still haven’t finished… on my second job making more… it’s who you know, and what you can do… plus work ethic and personality… and ideals and lifestyle… you can’t just coast through college being a douche (not claiming anyone on here did / is) … you just have to bust your ass and show the right priorities to the right people

just to add my .02 and experience with the subject

btw that test is bogus… fill in the same answers multiple times and get multiple results… doesn’t have a count of any sort… probably bogus to an extent at least.

Working fifty to sixty hours a week, I made about $30,000 this year. I paid off all the debt I accumulated since I turned 18.

Are you working that much and going to school at the same time?

Since I went back to school, I only work 45 or so hours a week.

That’s impressive. I could never have worked that many hours while in college.

full time work / school… no big deal… i deal with it.

I spend money too quickly to not work that often…:frowning:

someone from NA got a prefect score on the s.a.t & some other test!!!41 poeple in the country did!!!

my dad’s been talking to me about quitting my job and putting me on an allowance.

hey, at least you have that to look forward to… i was broke

1st thing - If you have to take an on-line IQ test to prove you have an IQ of 130+, then you aren’t that intelligent to begin with. Has anyone actually gone to a doctor and got a real IQ test done?

2nd - I agree it’s who you know over what you know. But there are careers that pay very well just out of college. My sister will have her doctorate in pharmacy from Duquesne in a few years and will make a lot of money and a few of my friends from high school got into investment type careers and do very well for themselves. The computer field sucks ass right now in pittsburgh, and it isn’t much better anywhere else. I got lucky and knew someone at AAA ( where I work now) and got a job without any degree for somewhere in the 40k/year range. I am currently going back to the university of west mifflin ( aka CCAC south) for a degree. I wish I would of done it earlier but I was making 30k/year right out of high school as a copier tech for IKON.

they’re thinkign about doing away with sat’s for college entrances too because all it does is show you how well you can take a test. i’ve always been an A student in the “gifted/advance” classes in h/s but only scored 1110 on SATs what’s that say?

i’m the exact opposite.

i always aced tests, but i never bothered with homework, and i skipped so much school that if i hadn’t been given my diploma and told to leave in late-December 99, i would have repeated my last year of high school.

it’s been proven that people in a certain intelligence range cannot function properly in society because it holds no interest for them. there’s an old man in avalon who rarely comes out of his house, but he’s been creating robots that perform a myriad of functions for decades. he’s pretty well off, but because he doesn’t care about anything other than discovery and challenge, he stays in his $50k house and lives rather meagerly.

our society was created to cater to individuals in the 100-130 IQ range. people under a 100 IQ are generally put into “slow” classes from grade 1, and people above a 130 IQ are put into the “gifted” track as early as possible. Very little is ever expected from the kids in the slow track, and therefore their education suffers, condemning them to a life of mediocrity and (usually) unrewarding blue-collar work. At the other end of the spectrum, much is expected from the gifted kids from day one. Many “burn out” long before their schooling is over (myself included). It’s the “normal” individuals in the 100-130 IQ range who benefit (for better or worse) from being treated as average, and therefore don’t face the pressures or phohibitions that others’ IQs shackle them to.

and i was not in gifted classes… but i was on quiz team  was supposed to be for “gifted kids”. but some parent bitched, and they had a open testing for it. i took the test to get out of a test in my science class, and got the 2nd highest score. LOL me on the quiz team…

i had a cousin that tested off the charts IQ wise, gifted, straight A’s, 1580 SAT, free ride to college… he immediately flunked out. without the pressure of being “the smartest” kid he just kinda zone out, tried drugs for the first time, and now lives at home… loser.

IQ is only your capacity to learn, it doesn’t mean you’re actually a smart person

A students work for C students and B students work for the government

i pride myself on the ability to retain knowlege (like with cars and computers) than i do the ability to score on a test.

:wavey:

Most of the tests online are similar to the real thing, but not nearly as in depth and honestly I hate taking any of these types of tests anymore cause I hate thinking for the sake of thinking.

www.mensa.org has a test on their site if anybody wants to take that. Also if anyone is really interested in getting a real test taken mensa gives supervised IQ tests for admission for like 25 bucks I think.

I got a 28 out of 30 on the Mensa Workout, and I’m kinda drunk.
