This would be an interesting thing to know/hack… I’m buying a couch online and it askes for a coupon code(if I had one) and I can’t find any. I wonder if there was a way to find out which coupons it would accept and what they would do… maybe like a hidden sub folder in the webpage?

Yes, it is one level up from the directory at the bank that gives you everyones account info.
Walter, I’m sure you developed many webpages that accept coupon codes. Thanks for your help.
it is normally stored in a table on the sql server that holds all of the other info for the page/form. I doubt that you will be able to get into it.
I’m sorry that you weren’t born with common sense, and that I assume that most people are. :walter:
I usually just do a search on google and hit up some of the bigger coupon posting forums. Usually 5 minutes of searching will turn up at least a free shipping coupon, or 5-10% off. Since I’m usually doing it on work time it’s a pretty good return on investment.
The days of lax web admins allowing you to stack coupons and get stuff with HUGE discounts (70-80%) or for free are pretty much over though. I remember one christmas buying one of those $150 kitchenaid mixers from Amazon and stacking enough coupons that I got it for $25 with free shipping. Now they are much more careful about the tricks you can use to keep reloading the page and adding another coupon.
If it’s a smaller site read up on SQL injection. After going to a security forum in Rochester I went home with my new found knowledge and was able to find a couple sites I could execute my own queries on. Nothing exciting like a banking site or online store though.
slickdeals.net has a coupon section
