g-bodies  , they may suck now but they are still better than those lesbian-mobile saturns. Who the hell on this board owns a saturn??? I hate you, whoever you may be!!!

i owned a 93 SC1. Great car. And under that plastic skin is a VERY safe steel cage. Of all the cars I’ve ever owned aside from my 1981 Crown Vic, it was the car I felt most safe in.

And when your quarterpanel breaks in a Saturn, you can get a new aftermarket one for under $60. No welding. Swap a quarterpanel in under an hour.

I think the new Saturns are ugly, BUT I think they have a much better shot at competing against the Japanese marques than Olds does. The Alero, Aurora, and Intrigue were much better looking than their Chevy/Pontiac/Buick siblings, but they still had the same crap under that nicer body. The new Saturns, on the other hand, are powered by one of the most respectable four bangers on the road, or in the case of the VUE, a Honda six-cylinder that’s a work of art.

its sad that GM keeps making shit box saturns that haven’t made them a profit yet and they end the Oldest US car company, Oldsmobile. why does GM need chevy trucks and GMC trucks? hummers are gay too. I sat in one of the final 500 alero’s and couldn’t belive olds is going out like this. Too bad the GTO couldn’t get here a little soon as they could have a platform to make a 442 and go out with a bang. Oh well, i’m sure no one else here cares :sadwavey:

Isnt Ford the oldest US car company?

WRONG!!! august 21 1897 oldsmobile was founded. I even have a T shirt that says

Front: Back:
Before Dodge Gm Managment
Before Chevy Shafted!!!
Even before FORD Oldsmobile
there was Oldsmobile

I’m sure they wouldn’t have sold those at the Olds nationals if it wasn;t true.

1897: R. E. Olds publicly offers for sale his first gas powered vehicle.
The asking price is $1,000.00.
The Olds Motor Vehicle Company is formed (8/21/1897).

I used to own an 83 Hurst/ Olds 15th Anniv. The engine sucked, but Lightning Rod shifters were cool. Once I got a real engine (Olds not Chevy) it was a rocket.

I don’t remeber what number it was. It’s been a least 5 years since I owned it. I’d still have it if it weren’t for damn money problems and I owned like 5 cars at the time and had to get rid of that one and my sport comp dragster. Easy come, easy go.
