Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, or AWD car

I just sold my bravada and I’m looking to buy something else for winter.

Looking to get into either a 97+ Wrangler, 99+ Grand Cherokee, late 90’s Audi, or Subaru.

Not looking for anything super shitty, must be reliable and no rust.

I have about 4-5k to spend. Let me know what ya got.

This is my buddies.

99 cherokee:
-brand new snow tires (jeep was taken off the road for the summer the day after the tires were put on)
-119k miles
-no rust
-auto
-pw/pl

I am pretty sure I have pictures on my imageshack, lemme check

he is asking $4k

edit: no pictures there. I have some at home for sure. its 4 door, red with tan-ish interior. Lemme know if you want me to post them

pm sent

cherokee sport (boxy one) or grand cherokee?

u already have an awd car…

thanks captain obvious! I mean one that I can drive in the winter.

I have about 5 more pictures…

ehh no thanks, I’m not a fan of the boxy style. thanks anyway I appreciate you mentioning it.

Also possibly interested in an Explorer/Mountaineer if anyone knows of one FS

They’re called snow tires Sal, lol.

i have a very decent 2002 Subaru Imperza 2.5TS Wagon [bugeye] on this site. check it out let me know very negiotiable on price. Asking $3000, it does have higher milage but was a commerical vehicle for a medical company. it was well maintained. let me know thanks nice get a round car for the price. minimal rust but it has to be noted.

lol ya thanks dude. no way I’m driving the talon in the winter after everything I’ve done, besides I can’t fit my stock wheel on the front anymore

you dont want a wrangler

Look into the 98 Grand Cherokees. Watch out for the limited editions. They came optional with the 5.9 V8 360… http://chautauqua.craigslist.org/ctd/1415347640.html . Not sure if it is the 5.9 but worth a call. Most G.C in any year come with either the I6 4.0 or 5.2 V8. The 5.2 is more than sufficient for power with G.C’s. The 4.0 however while a great engine is in my opinion suited for the Cherokee’s due to the 1000k lbs or so less weight to them in comparison to the G.C. The 5.2 has around 220hp in comparison to the 4.0 which runs at 190hp.

Edit: I must add that from 99-2004 The 5.2 was dropped and the 4.7 and 4.7HO were added. The 4.0 remained as a option through 2004. The 5.9 was only available in 98.

If it’s just gonna be a winter vehicle and your not gonna off road it then Nismo is right. If you want to drive it all year around then they are fun vehicles to have. Also there short wheel base and abillity to cheaply mod makes them great for off roading if that intrests you. But if not then go for something with a hard top. Whether it be a Grand Cherokee or something else. The wranglers even with the hard top on do not insulate very well. Thus leading to not a great winter choice.

well thanks for posting guys…

but I actually just picked up an '03 Explorer about an hour ago for pretty cheap so I’m all set and quite happy with my purchase

lol so much for that budget

you’d think so, but it actually wasn’t far off
