Jeff Gordon used Camaro prank

https://youtu.be/Q5mHPo2yDG8

it was all fake.

Thanks Capt. Buzzkill

Seriously? The right hand turns didn’t give it away?

the first time i saw this i thought it might be promising…then i realized, sure jeff gordon is a racecar driver but he is not a stunt man…and the whole “closed course professional driver” disclaimer kind of gave it away.

I’m not watching anyone losing their cookies in a car unless there are boobs a bouncing.

A viral video featuring a new ad for Pepsi swept the Internet on Wednesday. In it, Jeff Gordon supposedly goes undercover to buy a car. Walking onto a lot, he asks a salesperson whether he can test drive a 2009 Camaro. Then he gives the terrified salesman the test drive of his life. You can watch it all above.

Problem: Despite what most news outlets reported, the whole test drive was staged. The salesman is an actor. It wasn’t an actual hidden camera look at a “Candid Camera” style prank.

The video was produced by Gifted You, which is owned by Will Ferrell’s Funny or Die company. There are a few other problems with the video, as noted by jalopnik.com.

– Chevrolet didn’t make a Camaro in 2009. It started making it again in 2010.

– The car that is driven has a 2013 interior. A salesman would know what kind of car he is getting in.

– During the test drive, there isn’t one shot of Gordon driving the car. The Concord, N.C., Independent Tribune reported that Brad Noffsinger, who works with the Richard Petty Driving Experience, did the stunt driving.

So remember everyone, just because you see it on the Internet doesn’t mean it’s true.

[8:44 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013: An earlier version of this story identified Toyota as the manufacturer of the Camaro.]

^ Thanks, but the 2nd post had the same info.

really? It’s not real? I never would have guessed based on the shitty acting and perfect camera placement.

The cupholder gave it away for me. You would have to REALLY pre-meditate where the soda would be placed to get the passenger reaction. Also, that would have to be one tight cupholder to get such a smooth shot of the passenger.

I still laughed my ass off, it was pretty funny, even if it wasn’t real.

I knew it was a fake the second I saw the pavement was wet, not to mention the car making a right hand turn. Definitely not a NASCAR thing. lol

why does it matter if it was real or not?

its a pepsi ad, of course it wont be real. it was still entertaining, and there was plenty of shots of the pepsi can. i believe thats the point of an ad.

because if something like this is fake then it’s about as funny as a healthy person faking a seizure. The fact the Jeff Gordon was too much of a pussy to do his own stunts just finishes the deal.

Really? I thought Gordon was / is the winningest road course driver NASCAR.

This!

I guess you dont get sarcasm.

But, regardless of winning road races, they dont race on wet pavement. lol

That video is not worth watching

Really? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXzpeK2FPWo

someones butt hurt. lol You had to dig up a video to show me from 2008, sad.

didnt car to put it together as one. Deal with it.

Probably you, since circle track cars turn right more often than your sports car.

Heck, that '09 Camaro has seen more real driving in a 3:46 clip than your car has seen in it’s lifetime.

What’s up with the insults? Can’t take being proven wrong twice with factual information. That does sound like a major case of affliction on your part.
