John Deere 285 1986(?)

Camshaft not working. I talked to a guy who thinks it may be just the cam gear. The gear is $7. The shaft is $179. It leaks oil and coolant but the thing ran like a champ before this problem though. the gasket kit is $149. I don’t have the time (or the knowledge really) to fix it myself so I am thinking about selling and upgrading.

From what I have been told the attachments are worth a lot of money.
It has…

48" deck
belt driven bagger
snow blower (quite rusty)
weights
chains
Brand new $95 battery.
The tractor itself is rusty as it was used in winter.

The motor is a twin, liquid, 18hp Kawasaki (FD590V)
Hydrostatic control.

I had a 12 hp before this and this thing seems to have 10 times the power.

I paid $2500 a couple years ago.
I would think this would be great for a do it yourselfer on the repair.

If I can get $700 I will sell it.(This is not one of those little shit John Deeres that Lowes/HD sells)

I don’t want to be labeled an EA Scammer so let me be clear, I AM NOT 100% SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT, THE CAM NO SPINNY. lol

seems to be a solid deal for the weekend warrior, glws! scammer.
