ka24 e to ka24de swap problems.

I just swapped a ka24e for a ka24de and i’m having problems getting it to run right . It will idle without the mafs on but when the mafs is on it just dies. its also hard to start *

when the maf is on, if all the hoses are not hooked up then it will die out.
make sure it is all hooked up.

Which MAF are you using? I think the KAE MAF sensor is different from the KADE one. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

^that is correct, ka-e and ka-de maf are different.

like it was said already, you’re either using the wrong MAF or there is a large vacuum leak. probably the later since a DE MAF doesn’t plug into an E harness and vice versa.

if you’re using stock piping, my bet would be the big hole on the bottom of the intake pipe for the resonator that most people remove and forget about since you can’t see it.

Even plugged in, with a leak or other problem, the ecu should go into “safe mode” allowing the car to run as if there is no MAF and limits the rev to 2000. Get the right maf and check for other problems such as IAC valve, TPS, and throttle plate stopper.
