It’s easy to say what NOT to do. But what would you do instead, smart guy?
The economy may look better on the surface but I think people are FINALLY waking up to the future as far as debt/spending goes. We will see, maybe not.

Cut spending on what? Spending = jobs. Your way to stimulate the economy is to circulate LESS money through it? Putting people out of work by cutting spending = increasing spending on welfare and medicaid. What are you going to cut? Defense? Social Security? Corporate grants and incentives? People say it’s so easy to cut spending until they have to pick what to cut.
And I’m talking official unemployment, the figure that just went under 10%.
I would cut everything you mentioned except SS for obvious reasons.

The American public is so easily swayed by BS, do you really think they’d stand for “You know who made our country vulnerable to TERRORISTS, got you laid off, put your company out of business, then got your medical and unemployment cut? ANYWAY… The news cast was faker than faux.
It would be horrible in A LOT of ways, but the government would get much more done if they had indefinite appointments like the Supreme Court and were free to do what they thought was best long-term instead of what they could sell the public on in the next election.

The economy is still fundamentally in horrible shape AND we are in more debt. Government jobs and spending programs are not in place to fix the economy they are in place to keep the public happy and so politicians look like they are “doing something.”
