Since I posted my mustang for sale I obviously checked KBB, they value the car at 5k… good luck finding a new edge GT that was well maintained with a clean title and 2 owners or less and with 100k miles or less for under 6500. But thats not the crazy part, I saw another guy selling a 99 GT with 40k miles and was curious so I checked KBB pricing.
99 GT
good condition
40k miles
$5800
00 GT
Good condition
100k miles
$5050
So apparently according to KBB a car with 60k less miles isnt even worth a grand more. Well Im officially never using KBB again, where the hell do these guys get their valuations from?
NADA. but you just have to adjust for the present market. some people are turned on to cars that are pre modded and pay the asking premium, where others prefer stock and wont pay a cent over book listing even when modded.
KBB goes by DMV…for all of us who walk in there with bills of sale saying we bought this audi or this 05 civic for 1000 or 500 bucks from my buddy or this guy off craigslist or w/e…thats why shits super low…
basically when buying a car use KBB …when selling a car use NADA… :ahh
