Id rock it.
um why? Do you try to progress in your career? seems like an awesome opportunity and the ford car is pretty badass
If scooby are the ones that found him and made his career to begin with I feel you should stick with them. ( unless they are going to screw you)
everyone’s got bills to pay
I would like to see him stay in the STi but you gotta do what you gotta do!
Who cares if he switches camps? Almost all recent WRC greats rotated through different Marques, its just part of the game.
Have any of you guys ever switched jobs in your career or did you stay with the first company that hired you?
It looks like he needed to move on if he was to get to the big time in racing. Racing in colorado and missouri is cool and all but it’s not exactly the wrc.
I see the point you guys are making but ken block does not have a normal job. does your job give you a turbo car with sno tracks to drive around in?
dude, it is the wrc. thats the major leagues of auto racing. my pecking order of race series wrc>f1>everything else.
as for why he had to leave subaru-- subaru cant afford to run a full fledged wrc car. they pulled out for the 09 season. so next best logical step is ford. they need a hot name to help push the car state side that jives w/ the younger crowd. ken needs money to race. match made in heaven.
also, remember that teh entire time he was driving subaru–he was not a subaru/pro-drive factory shoe. rather he was partnered w/ subaru usa/vermont sportscar. that like comparing a well respected stateside shop like say titan motorsports to mainland japan trd. both know heir shit, but the main land place has a lot more resources. by going to ford–he taps into it.
as for the info–here is the official dc release my friend emailed me who works at dc.

sounds like a good step for him watched the x-games rally this year and those little fords seemed little bit by bit able to go above and beyond the Subaru’s. Plus the Focus looks good. just wonder if all the kids with big monster stickers on there cars are gonna get ford ones now too
I Miss Seeing This Guy Drive
It would be nice to see ford finally bring over the focus everyone wants and not the shitbox they sell now, hopefully this helps the progress if there was any to begin with
Good for him! He’s a good driver, but he’s nowhere near international WRC caliber. Focus RS FTW though, despite no chance of it seeing US shores.
agreed.
money talks and bullshit walks.
Oh Snap!
it would be tough for ken block to drive a subie in the wrc, since subaru is pulling out and all. i think hes gonna have a tough time at first getting used to the competition. rally america is nothing compared to the wrc. but this story has been out for some time now…
Definitely a cool car, just a shame we won’t see it stateside.
its nice that sailor posted the actual facts… he’s not jumping ship on subaru. they dont have a wrc team because they cant justify (or maybe afford) financing it. if he wants to race, he will have to go with a different manufacturer. i’m sure he will still make youtube videos for everyone to watch.
