ive watched alot of kimbos videos and hes a tough guy. Big as hell. However look at him trying to fight proffessional’s in some of his movies in ufc style fights. He loses. This is going to be a good fight.

Yeah, I was impressed witht he interview…didn’t expect that. Those videos are badass, but he is fighting everyday guys. If he gets taken down chances are he will get rocked…unless he get some crazy training and is a super fast learner. Looked what happened to him when he fought Sean Gannon…he got his ass beat…and that with gay ass rules no kneeing or take downs. Think about how much faster it would have been if there were mma rules. And think Gannon got his ass kicked in his first and only MMA fight.
I think starting him out against Mercer is a decent idea considering how old Mercer is…so he may have a shot. But he better have learned some takedown defense and watch for some knees b/c these aint no punk asses from the ghetto.
yep, I watched that right before you posted. Gannon wore Kimbo down alot by just leaning on him and also by dodging all Kimbo’s punches. Kimbo’s such a knock out puncher that if you can make him miss a couple of times, it looks like you can make him tired and open him up for the counter.

No doubt he is a KO puncher…he exploaded that one dude’s face and his eye was just hanging. But that video showed how a pro vs a joe can be. Mercer just has to hope he doesnt get caught. Like I said though Mercer is old and has lost a ton in his later years…but he is still a pro fighter so i think it may be interesting…if it stayes stand up Kimbo may have a shot if he lands a few good ones but Mercer is a former pro boxer so you never know.
Kimbo is goin to get smashed…he is cocky and has no shot against a pro. he is tough but I can see mercer making him look like a chump

Mercer gives up some size and reach to kimbo, but he has fought people of relative size as kimbo, i.e Lennox Lewis and done pretty damn well. Forget the internet videos you’ve seen of kimbo beating up on ghetto backyard fighters in the past, its completely irrelevant. This is a professional boxer, who’s been training in MMA as of late also. With both of them having tons of KO power, it could go either way. My vote goes to Mercer simply for his training and conditioning.
