landlord thread

I dunno, I have shitty credit, yet my rent was 3 days late, once in the last 4 years…

i have shitty credit because the rent got paid and the other things that actually report to the agencies did not on time…

Don’t be creepy, rude, and childish like my landlord. He is a gossip and cannot stop telling everyone whatever dirt (real or not) he has on everyone to everyone. As in I know exactly what problems the downstairs neighbor has had paying, even though I have repeatedly told my landlord that I do not care and that it is between them. Long story short, I worry that my landlord will tell future prospective landlords about anything he has heard, thought or seen (real or not) and that it will affect my ability to find a new apartment next year…

Questions, is it normal for a Landlord to want to start showing an apartment 90 days in advance of a moveout? seems really far ahead and somewhat unfair to the current tenants (us) to have to deal with people coming in the apartment for 3 months.
last, is 6-7 separate days of work on an apartment a little bit too long to have a landlord repair a 4’x9’ section of water damaged drywall? not sure If I just have expectations that are unreasonable, I just feel that he should not be insisting on coming into the apartment on approximately 12 occasions over the course of 60 days… (been here for 4 years and the only damage to apartment is a burn in a bedroom rug).

Repairing a large section of drywall can be done in a day if you are skilled using hot mud. Most people are not and just use compound that takes 24hrs between coats. That is 3 days of install, tape, mud. Then it needs to be primed and painted which is day 4. That should be the end of it.

He does have every right to be there whenever he needs to be so long as he has a good lease. See my post above with an iron clad lease.

90 days out is a bit long, but again in a good lease there is typically a clause that allows them to show the place at any time with 24hrs notice.

Shitty credit is what it is, and although you paid your rent it would be common to get disqualified based on that before someone spends time calling references and prior landlords. This is a business and time spent is money spent.

All that said yes dude is weird and out of line talking about other tenants like that.

Thanks

Rate your cleanliness? How’s that usually work out for you?
