So my laptop was pretty fine all day. I go out for a few hours and I come back and there are about 90 pop ups on the screen and my background is now blue saying its infected.
I ran my adware and spybot search and destroy and it pulled stuff but its much worse than what these programs were able to pull out.
Any suggestions?
download “hijackthis”, then run it and post a log of the results. might be able to see some problems in there
theres also a program called “VunduFix” you could try and see if it catches any smithfraud’s or bad spyware/virus files
+1 for a HiJackThis log. Post the log but do not change any of the settings. You can really mess up your computer if you don’t know what you’re doing.

or try Trendmicro.com…saved the SHIT outta my laptop a couple months ago…they have a program on their website called “housecall”…set that up to run and leave it for a couple hours and come back and follow the prompts from there. Then for future prevention get a free registry cleaning software…I had glarysoft and it really worked well…been fine since
