no internal fans or HD bay make this more audiophile friendly as both can introduce noise. I’m very interested in this, it might work very well for my needs.
I’d recommend TwonkyMedia ($30) unless MediaTomb has gotten better, haven’t tried it in probably a year but I couldn’t get it to stream media to my xbox.
One reason for not tying your media extender to an external HDD: Having 3 HD screens in the house, 2 desktops & a laptop.
