Stay away from this router. If you purchase a Linksys router, DO NOT BUY the WRT54G v2.2. If you don’t believe me, just do a search on google for problems with this router and you will find lots of people having problems specifically with the v2.2. The unit goes up and down, reboots itself or locks up when transferring a lot of data through the router. Unfortunately for me, I spent about 3 weeks troubleshooting this piece of shit, thinking it was problems with my setup, etc. It turns out it’s the router, and by the time I figured that out, the 14-day return policy was over. Of course, linksys tech support tells me it’s operating normally. Fuck linksys and fuck this router.

Linksys is fine, never had any probs with mine, just make sure to keep the firmware up to date, Cisco makes a great interface. When I had problems it was always Comcasts shitty RCA cable modem that went up and down. took that sucker in and they gave me a brand new model. Works all the time now.

I had problems with my linksys until I stuck a usb cooling fan in it. Those things seem prone to overheating.

I have an SMC wireless-b router w/ two different laptop PCMCIA cards that i can sell to anyone who wants them… the SMC router, though not the biggest name in the business, works GREAT!!! honestly never had 1 problem with it… i just upgraded to a netgear wireless G router… its very nice also…
