LKSi's 92' GS-R

So how does that quick disconnect work. You just unplug it and for instance can pull the motor without having to remove all wiring? How hard is that install??

the main harness has a break in it at the bulkhead, and the cannon plug connects there so rather than unhooking all the sensors individually, and having a wire mess, you have one, simple connection.

thats pretty sick! how much is a setup like that and how much of a pita is it?

dont know pricing, but you need to pin out each wire(solder male and female pins to each side of the break in wire in the harness) then build the connector. it can be time consuming depending on the harness size(wire count)

Yeah that seems like more than i want to do. I hate wiring!

OK, so just got my power back… :umm. Adam for the special crip tool and the connector, pins, wires, etc. it’s going to be about $800 or so. After the initial purchase, I could get a plug set-up with pins and pigtails on either side for around $350 if you were interested.

Hmm i might have to let ya know about that. What would you wanna get to do the install?? Cuz adam+wiring= :ahh :angry2

Well it would actually be pretty simple as long as the motor is out of the car. I’ll let you know after I do my install. Hopefully by the end of winter break I’ll have all the materials at least. All of that stuff is $$$$ though.

Yeah, i figure with giving you the job you can recoupe some of the $$$ spent at least…

Most Honda’s have a factory disconnect anyway. Like in an EG or DC on the passenger shock tower where you have the 3 plugs.

He’s doing this for baller factor and because it’s clean. You save maybe 3mins on engine pull time for hours upon hours of installation time.

How many times is the motor going to be pulled also?

I’m not knocking it but IMO it’s not worth the $500 Mil Spec connectors.

I kinda agree. I’m debating whether I want to just do a regular style harness now. The trend is now toward the Mil Spec connectors… and I think it’s cool and all, but I actually think the bay looks cleaner without it. We’ll see what happens. Either way I can get a Connector with pigtails on both sides for $380 if anyone is interested.

just read this thread front to back, this thing is sick. awsome build man
