Dennis Hatch is a Buffalonian, who happens to be a dominant pool player. He’s got a chance to be selected for a huge tournament known as the Mosconi Cup, where he will represent America (FUCK YEA!) along with 4 other already chosen contestants to play against Team Europe who have kicked America’s ass the last 2 years. Hatch is easily the best player on that list of 8 right now, and deserves the chance to play. Unfortunately this is a popularity contest…

DENNIS Hatch will become the final member of the 2009 American Mosconi Cup side after winning the Mosconi Cup Idol vote.
After 14 days of voting and some tireless campaigning by all eight candidates, Hatch triumphed and will be representing Team USA for the first time in his career.
The Hatchetman, 38, took the lead in the vote with a few days to go and increased over the final weekend to win by just over 6 per cent from runner-up Rodney Morris with Charlie Williams coming third.
Hatch, from Buffalo, has recently dominated the Joss Northeast Tour and Las Vegas has proved a happy hunting ground for him as he defeated England’s Darren Appleton in their race-to-100 TAR Challenge Match.
There are many who feel that Hatch’s aggressive game and passionate character may be just the shot in the arm that Team USA needs to get their PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup challenge back on a winning track.
“This is unbelievable, I’ve got so many emotions running through me, tears, excitement and happiness,” said an overwhelmed Hatch when informed of the result.
“This will be the best experience ever. I’ve always wanted to play on the Mosconi Cup and I feel we’ve got a good chance if we prepare. We’ve got to play hard and make sure that every game counts!”
Hatch now joins Oscar Dominguez, Corey Deuel, Shane Van Boening and Johnny Archer in what looks to be a strong American line up to face the Europeans from December 10 to December 13 at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas.

Good stuff. Used to love playing myself, haven’t in ages. Good luck to him.
Before this, Hatch was relatively an unknown. This is a huge opportunity for him to gain recognition in more than just the New England region. Hopefully he picks up a permanent sponsor of some type so he can travel to the nation’s larger tournaments.
As for TV coverage, its usually very limited. Maybe one of the ESPNs will have it. They have been showing a lot of older billiards clips recently.
Wow, it has been many years since I heard that name! He was very good over 10 years ago when I used to play in the Shark tank tourneys at Classic Cue in the mid 90’s lol! I hope he does well, good for a local!
Don’t know him too personally, but I’m a young shooter from Buffalo. Been watching him play for a while, back at Bogie’s I tried to get lessons from him and Danny but our schedules were never able to coincide.
Oh gotcha. Yea my Dad bought Bogies in March, we just changed the name. Danny was in over the weekend giving two guys a lesson Saturday and Sunday. If you wanted to set something up for lessons still shoot me a PM. We record the lesson for each customer and Danny gives really fair rates.
