logo in browser bar

a thought:

I use mozilla firefox to peruse nyspeed. firefox’s bookmarks, like many other browsers, support a small logo that inserts into the browser bar when the site is displayed, and also displays on the bookmark dropdown.

not only does this add a little class, but it’s nice when you are trying to find a bookmark in 150+ bookmarks (bookmarking a bookmark? hmmmmm…)

just a new idear. if someone knows what format said logo needs to be in, I can create one with the yield sign and squiggle arrow.

Do a little search on favicon.ico - it has to be in .ico format to work.

I’ve done these a few times, myself.

http://www.mwtusa.com/ , for example.

Not a bad idea

actually, I d/l’ed the program for making a logo - I’ll play with it and see what I can do.

no quick edits?

anyway, thanks pumice. always wondered where that .ico format came from, it’s not an export out of flash, freehand, illustrator, ps, etc.

Done

Doesn’t work for me for some strange reason in IE

just wondering if it works for you guys.

is this easy to do?

yes, does it work for you?

I did it already

dont know how to do it :frowning:

my understanding is it was originally an IE thing? so it should work in IE. i don’t see it in firefox though…

icons work in firefox, its not only an IE thing

Doesn’t work in Mozilla or Opera for me…

I have a big G for an icon for this site? WTF?
