^^^^to the questions up there. i used to work at a rental business. get a floor sander. then refinish. with a floor like that you dont want to use a drum sander due to the constant change of direction, but an orbital. those ones just vibrate in circles on the floor. usually rental businesses have a package deal that include a small circular hand sander to get close to edges. usually they give you so many of each grit and then charge you after based on what you use. after you sand put on a couple coats of whatever stain/sealer/finish you chose. with sanding always go with the grain or youll dig a hole in the wood.
