Looking for $100 because the bulb is almost new and all of the parts are there.

Sweet. Does that mean I get a new TV?
I can throw it together quick.
Thats actually what happened with the fan, it looked like it was melted.
Damn blackout… where were you before I ripped this thing apart?
Brushless fan just means that it is a ball bearing fan.
What size is the fan in millimeters?
There are a ton of computer case fans that might work for that application, if you get one with a high cfm it might even be better than what the factory gave you.

Sorry, I just saw this thread. I usually stay away from the nerd corner.
I Don’t see any sort of expiration on the recall, so I would say you just need to call the number. Then schedule them to come fix it.

It is one of those blower fans, not like a case fan… but you probably know what Im’ talking about.
I’m sure I could have done something, but I wanted to fix it right.

It is literally down to pieces. I think they would laugh at me if they had to put it back together on a recall, but I guess it is worth a shot.
EDIT - I’m on the phone with JVC right now… hopefully they can do something for me.
EDIT2 - The lady on the phone said to put it together before they get here. lol.
umm… yeah. Usually, ripping it apart voids the warranty. I would have told her that “I thought I smelled smoke, then the fan stopped making noise, so I went online to find out what might be wrong, and found the recall”
Good luck, I hope this works out for you
“brushless” has nothing to do with “ball bearing”
You can use any “brushless” fan as long as the physical size and rated voltage is the same. The current draw rating just needs to be close.

I can’t believe you told her you had it torn apart. :picard:
You’re real lucky you got a nice customer service rep willing to bend the rules because most of them would have told you it’s not their problem once you took it apart.
You’re gonna get a new tv… ! lol
good deal, nyspeed saves the day…
(maybe they’ll fix it, but thats cool too)
