I will bring the 2.5 bar map
finaly a car that can actually fit a turbo system. lol
Flawless
I know. It almost seems like a waste not to, right?
It might be faster than you think. Those cars are featherweight, and it has some baller headers which tells me at one point it had a stout small-block in there. Regardless, it looks like a sweet car for the money.
He said he ran it at the 1/8th a few times. High 7s
Weight was one of the first things i liked about these cars. I really don’t know SBC stuff well at all. Maybe once I get it back some of you guys who do can come over for a beer and fill me in on what I can do with the current setup or what its worth if/when I decide to transplant it. Hell if I could run mid-low 7s NA and maybe put a lil squeeze to it that would be plenty fun for awhile.
A factory 400 block would have to be filled to handle anything more than 500 hp.
WEAK! ha
high 7’s is mid-low 12’s in the 1/4, so it’s not bad at all!
I see iron heads and usually that’ not a good sign, lol.
Run it till it’s time to come out and sell it on C-list for beer money…
7s, 8s, 9s As long as it makes V8 pushrod noises and does burnouts until I decide a build plan we are good to go. I will prob take it to the track to see whats up though!

Exactly the plan
Big-block!!!
A nice 555" N/A pump gas big block could make 750hp all day long. Or boost it and make 1500.
Big blocks are siq. This motor has a small cam and “double hump” heads although im not really sure what that is. Sounds siq. If I can sell off this stuff for a few hundo when im done being mean to it that would be sweet. If it really even runs close to an 8sec 1/8th the car should be plenty fun for the summer.
“double hump” = “fuelie” head which are the good iron heads first used on '63-'67 fuel injected 'Vette’s, hence the “fuelie” nickname. They have 2.02"/1.60" valves, no accessory bolt holes, roughly 170cc intake ports and flow around 175cfm give or take a little. They are great for old school guys, but seriously lacking compared to anything aftermarket that is out there right now. They will sell for roughly $500 on craigslist or on ebay, if they have a good date code on them. Guys will use them on period correct restorations.
Still shit compared to an LS
Would you expect something designed in 1960 to hold a candle to something from the mid 90’s?
Drew’s gotta be fancy… nails did, hair did, everything big.
Oh hell yeah if I can sell them for 400-500 that would be sweet when the time comes. I am assuming the headers might be a few hundo used and the shortblock with accesories as well. But I can deal with all of that when I am bored with current configuration. Could be two weeks from now. Might be two years.
Joelster what kind of hp is a 400 with these heads, mild cam and such going to make? 300?
It looks like it has a good single plane intake like an Edelbrock Victor jr, or a Weiand Team G. Also a dual feed Holley 4bbl. I can’t tell if it’s a double pumper or a vacuum secondary because the air cleaner is in the way. The headers look to be huge for a small block. They look like a 2" or at least a 1-7/8ths" tube. If it has a decent cam in it say over 230 degrees, and has decent compression, it should make around 400hp, or 300 at the wheels.
A set of AFR 195cc heads would wake it right up. Probably get it to 450hp-475hp assuming the cam is big enough.
Not bad at all. Too bad the block can’t hang or id put a bottle to it for the time being.
