ls1 knock sensor help

Ok I bought a ls1 knock sensor so I can monitor knock on my TEC3r but the sensor I have is clearly larger than M10x1.5 thread.

This is the sensor I have http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SMP-KS2
I ordered a drill and tap for M10x1.5 based on this picture describing the sensor as M10. So the question is did I get the right sensor or did I order the wrong one? http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/PerthPurplePenguin/car%20parts/LS2Knocksensors.jpg

looks proper. m10 i’m pretty sure is right. i don’t have any spare one s laying around to help with. whats this going in?

This is going on my 951 since they have similar bore sizes I figured that it would be close in the range for knock freq. The problem though I taped a hole for M10 and the sensor doesnt fit? so im a little confused since the one I got is supposedly for a ls1

bump

bump anyone have a idea? or maybe the correct sensor I need?

I can tell you for a fact that the proper LS1 knock sensor is M10x1.5. The hole in the LS2 block there is M8x1.25. That is why when LS1 guys use the LS2 block you must drill the hole with a metric bit and tap it with the M10x1.5 to use the LS1 sensors. What is the diameter of the knock sensor threads?

Oh I have a new one at the shop $50 if you need one ASAP

It looks to be M12 but I ordered this one from summit and it says its for a ls1 so maybe they sent me the wrong sensor?

The correct LS1 sensor part number from standard is KS116. The KS3 you have is for older GM vehicles. It is most likely an NPT thread

thanks thats just what I needed now I can order the right sensor
