this is the pic I want to do it to.
tips?
i dont know… but i LOVEEEE that photo!
thanks. It’s down in Ocracoke, which is on Outer Banks, NC
Give us the original color shot.
Google says do this:

I’m no photoshop expert, but if you are better with it then I am, then that link will make sense.
So how did you do that? And how did you do it so fast?
few things
take the color pic, desaturate the colors about -45%
then i have a scratch fill pattern, which adds those scratches in a pattern using “soft light” to put on top of the pic… in PS its EDIT>FILL … i had to download a small 30x30 pixel image of scratches, then PS creates the pattern to flow over the whole pic
i also did a slight “diffuse glow” which kinda lightens it up and makes the whites in the pic slighty glow, i did a very minimal one for this…
then i added an orange warming filter, so it gives the sepia tone look, but stil retrieves some of the color in the pic
as for doin it so fast… i dunno, but it def sounds like more than it is… each thing just takes a few clicks
i’m gonna work on it now. you pretty much made that pic exactly how I was picturing it in my head, so now I’m just going to look like a copier lol.
where can I d/l that scratch pattern (or any scratch pattern for that matter)
i’ve already done everything except the scratches, except I kept some more color in mine.
All I need is the scratch filler.
post up when you finish. I wanna see.
sure thing

That looks great right there.
i think there is a PS pluggin called “oldmovie”
It works fucking awesome. (the pic was fucked to begin with…)
anyone know where you can get that OldMovie plugin for free? apparently you can buy it for $25 but i dont see myself using it enough to justify the expense. yeah im cheap lol
