so ive got a bunch of stuff i simply dont want anyone finding on my personal web space… including all the songs i dl ( music company lawsuits = bad)
what do i have to do to make sure this stuff doesnt get found by people intentionsly trying to find stuff on my webspace, or by people using a search engine to find info on “metallica” ?
if you look in the ftp directory, there is usually a folder called “_private”.
for example mine would look like “ftp://users.adelphia.net/public_html/_private/”.
.htaccess ?
there is an amazing tutorial on it by leo laporte somewhere on tech tv’s website i think. i usually google for it when i need it
Yeah, either .htaccess or just don’t publish it to anyone. Essentially, if you make a folder with a difficult / random name, it won’t be discovered.
im just using randon type folder names at the moment, i guess thats good enough , thanks guys
