Mandatory FM Tuners in Mobile Phones?

It’s never been used on a national level. On a regional level it gets used all the time.

I think I’ve just gotten so sick of federal scare tactics just from walking through airports and hearing “Todays threat level is… insert random color here” that I’m soured on the whole idea.

Every time I hear that in an airport I hope they toss in a new exciting color. Something like Sunset Orange Metallic or Arctic White. Never happens.

I dont see the point of FORCING everyone to shove a FM tuner in phones. I dont even know anyone who gives a shit about FM radio. What the hell is a radio going to do in a emergency? Figgure it out.

And it is my understanding that the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and Ipod Touch Gen 2/3 all technically have FM tuners built in for the NIKE+ functionality… Apple just decided to not use it, for whatever reason.
