I like the camber bing :grouphug:
Very cool!
Nice work guys…
Did Tyson do the grafix? They both look the mutt’s nuts, I can’t wait to see the episode!
Its all about negative camber y0!
I like them both! To bad about the parts not coming in though, that would be a big piss off.
neg camber looks mad snake, but its not nearly low enough 8)
good luck bingo
but whats up with the tach/red shift boot/silver trim/apc steering wheel? :?
the tach was a reward for a challange we did adn won , so we kinda had to install it , silver trim was our second choice , our first choice was to use the colour that is on the bottom of the car but we ran out of it when we painted the car, so we did it silver because we get judged on what we modify on the car and if we didnt do anything then we wouldnt get any points
farmer
Nice cars guys. I am liking the green. That is hot, when I walked in after delivering the brake lines (your welcome Bing), I saw them sitting there, but they actually look good on the car.
I would really like to see this drift day!!!
Nice work guys!!!
yup thanks theo,
sometimes i forget to thank people, but there is no need to get upset, as some people do.
favours get repaid or are repayments which are far more important that the words of thank you anyways.
i owe you a few $$$ too dont i
How come barely any front negative camber but soo much in the rear?
Wouldn’t you want more up front?
no, because he’s got a less hp engine, he needs as little tire patch as possible in order to spin them. I think bing made a very well calculated choice when deciding to run this much camber in the rear.
SR with basic suspension and a welded diff is a better choice in my opinion, however those wheels are sooo gay and the car is sitting way to high. Bing’s car looks better, but chris’s car will drift better.
Great job to both of you, it’s unbelieveable how much stuff can get done in 2.5 days when skilled guys are working.
thanks pavel,
actually the front was set at full neg as well, i dont know why it doesnt show as well.
Negative camber allows more of the tire’s contact patch to remain on the track right? Negative camber is gonna flatten out when it’s rolling and give it a greater contact patch to the ground
By giving it soo much rear camber, you’re having a shitload more tire to road contact. This will mean more tire to break loose, and with a severly underpowered car, drifting will be ridiculously hard.
^^ Sorry, thou art confused.
Negative makes less contact. It will be rolling closer to the inner edge of the tyre.
On the front, if you have more negative camber you will have less initial grip, then when countersteering the wheel will move towards positive, making more contact patch. Its not just for looks, as I found out the hard way… (weee understeer!)
On the rear, it’ll stay with the little contact patch it has, especially if they are running harder compound tyres. In my case, I just threw on my coilovers and have about 1.5* of negative on the rear, and its really easy to break loose on the track. Stock KA pwns me.
do a quick google search and find out what camber gives a greater contact patch.
“A slight amount of negative camber setting is desirable because as a vehicle turns the outside wheels get pushed into a more positive camber state. This results in a camber of zero, or a straight up-and-down wheel, while cornering, which provides the largest contact patch and the greatest traction for handling.”
“Dialing in more negative camber allows the contact patch to be used more evenly when cornering, reducing understeer and increasing the life of the tire with more even wear.”

“but negative camber will generally accommodate maximum tread contact at the road surface in severe turns”

John, you’re wrong… accept that.
negative camber in moderation is meant to generate a larger contact patch due to body roll, however when you are running very stiff suspension and excessive negative camber it leaves you with a very small contact patch, in fact any suspension flex with nissan rear geometry only gives the wheels MORE negative camber (hence the reason my tires cleared the rear fender). A lot of neg. camber = small contact patch = easy to break traction.
hmm…fair enough.
on the front of the car Never is right, and his quotes are talking about front camber i beleive.
the rear end behaves a bit differently and shouldnt fall victim to too much increase in grip as the car gets sideways.
but that could have an intersting result seeing as how there will be a Quaife diff in the car as well.
Fom what I hear Bing’s team will be running stock rims come race day. Chris’s car is not as low simply because they ran out of time and had more imprtant things to get finished before time was up. Chris say’s it will be lower for race day.
