Factory 1.6 diff was garbage. They break under normal driving and being a viscous lsd they normally had a life span >80,000. Almost none of the 1.6 lsds still work. My old miata had one of these at first, the lsd never worked so it was an open diff and after a few track days it whined and chattered…
I bet rad support and radiator are doomed.
Maybe even the frame.

If the interior is in good shape you might be able to part the rest of the car and break even.
With a little effort you can find wrecked 1.8l miatas for the same price.
You’ll get bigger brakes and a beefier differential. The rear subframe should be the same, as should the arms. And you can’t seriously want to re-use 16+ year old shocks.
Also, as was mentioned above, the 1.6l LSD is crap. Viscous model, and after all this time it almost certainly is functioning just as an open diff.
considering the use of the photoshop filter, the paint/body is probably pretty tore up (or worse than it looks at least)

If you are just going to be making a track car out of it… and go a few times… I wouldn’t bother … just track your M… Cause you are just going to get fucking bored with the miata

Go to a race weekend and wait for one to crash, then offer the driver $$$ on the spot. I know several Miatas have changed hands this way.
At one race, a Miata rear-ended another Miata crunching both pretty good. One driver offered to buy the other car so he could combine the 2 into one good car.
