Random flight while in Iraq, don’t remember which it was, did about 3 or 4.
thank you
damn falleujah eh? my buddy i work with was there in 04-05 he said it was terrible, also just just got back from the Korengal Valley (think Restrepo) all in 2010
all active duty (25ID, 82ABN, and 173ABN)
Yeah 04-05 was the same time I was there, bad time those years lots of activity. I spent probably 90% of my time in Fallujah.
we had a lot of F14’s and F18’s flying off over you Greg, leaving loaded, coming back light…
And it was greatly appreciated! :number1
As well as our 155mm howitzer fire support from base! I called in quite a few of those…benefits of being a radio operator, it was almost like playing “God.”
You guys are awesome. So what are the current jets that you see on the regular? f14 and f18, do they still use f15 at all?
F14’s were retired in 2006.
Mostly used is F18 which is sort of the Navy’s F14 replacement.
Where I was the only jet was really the F15 rarely had it though, it was always local Apaches and reapers.
Apaches and little birds.
AH-1 Cobras for us on patrol, though Apaches would have been nice, those things are way more advanced then Cobras.
this thread got badass quick
Here are some pics of Pearl Harbor (my 2nd time there) from my honeymoon. To anyone who ever goes out to Hawaii and is on the island of Oahu and doesn’t go to Pearl Harbor deserves a kick to the nuts. The boat ride to the memorial is free and includes a short film about Pearl Harbor. If I go back to Hawaii I would absolutely without a doubt see it again. And yes it is still leaking oil, I had a video somewhere of the drops coming to the surface every 20-30 seconds.
