Motorcycle question about older sport bike.

I’ve recently stumbled upon an older Suzuki GS700E that might be going up for sale soon and seem to be having a bit of trouble finding information about it.

Asides from apparently being a spiffy looking early 80s sport bike. The few things I have seen appear to be positive. But it also appears to be a rarer bike so finding specific info is a bit difficult

Didn’t know if anyone happened to know someone that might have owned one. Or knows someone that might know a bit about these bikes. Probably a long shot but might as well try to see what I can find.

google search it and try to find a owners forum. Or talk to some of the old timers on buffalostreetriders.com, I think there are a couple of guys on there that could help you out.

check out similar models then… gs500, gs1100… etc etc… im not familiar with a 700…

Devin if your interested, I have a 79 750 GS. 4 cyl. It needs carb work and a voltage regulator. typical pricing is a dollar per cc

While I do like older style bikes, I was interested in this one due to it’s uniqueness. And the fact that it’s an earlier sport bike. Though my riding style definitely is more suitable towards older bikes most older cruising style bikes are a tad too tall for me. Whereas this one is lower and has a riding position that I am very comfortable and familiar with.

the 79 is before the era of plastic cladding and all that nonsense. If you want pics im sure i can get them

I’m well aware of that, my dad had an old 82 Honda when I was younger, my step dad has a 79 with 3000 miles on it sitting in the garage for about the same price. They are quite sexy in their own ways. We’ll see what happens I’m waiting to hear back around monday if it’s going up for sale. The few impressions I can find seem to indicate that it was a solid bike for the era. Though much slower than a modern 600cc bike nowadays.

your going to have a hard time getting parts for that 700…try to find a 600, 750, or 1000. parts are a dime a dozen for them motors
