 that thing is beautiful. Can’t wait to see it next week in Detroit.

i just got my car and driver in the mail today and that is in there. it looks like its a go in making it and its gonna retail around $35,000 for the SS (and yes that thing has a hemi) with about 425hp and 420tq. Very awesome car tho, the interior looks pretty sweet.

Has the Charger really been successful though? I’ve only seen two on the road so far. One belongs to a co-worker (V6 - bleh). I know the 300C has been very successful though, I see them everywhere.

Next week? Are you going to the press preview? Because the show doesn’t open to the public until Jan 14th…

the past is the past…let it rest for christ sakes

That is the plan  The Camaro and Challenger are high on my must see, tons of pics list.

It looks like it has some potential to become a pretty good sports car. I had the opportunity to drive a hemi 300c to an auction in PA for work last week. i was actually impressed with it. you could really tell that it had the underpinnings of a mercedes, although softened a bit. the 340 horsepower hemi was a joy to whomp on. it made awesome v8 sounds and threw you back in your seat the way a hemi should. yet is still managed close to 24 MPG according to the trip computer thing.

i see the new challenger as a smaller, lighter version of that car with more power. seems like a winner. IMO, it has a big one up on the mustang in the rear suspension department.

although, i have kinda grown up around mopars all my life. my uncles used to drag me out to chrysler shows and have let me drive their old plymouths ('70 GTX 440-6 and '70 'cuda AAR). it sucks that the plymouth nameplate doesn’t exist anymore. I would really like to see a return of the barracuda.

If they wanted to go FTW, they should offer a manual gearbox with a pistol grip shifter.

who are they hiring in the design department …looks really hot

1st Dodge I like

just read an article about it in Car and Driver…apparently Dodge is planning to produce it, and they are gonna offer an optional 500-hp 6.1 Hemi. thats right- 500 factory horsepower…some of ya’all better watch out cuz when i get my hands on one of those, some serrious shit is gonna go down

Mostly graduates from the three following schools: Cleveland Institute of Art, College for Creative Studies, and Art Center. I went to the Cleveland school (class of '04) and had a car design program where for each semester a company from Detroit would come in a teach a class under the direction of their designers. Most of the time it would be alumni who would run it, but they often would send in designers from other schools to work with us too. Was a great class and we saw a lot of sketches we shouldn’t have seen and got great instruction. A handful of my friends are currently working there…one of them actually grew up here.

FWIW, I too love the new Challenger…beautiful car.

Really liking the directoin dodge has been heading recently.

wait i’m not done yet

kinda surprised they haven’t built this yet, since they’ve already RT’d and SRT-X(X)'d pretty much anything and everything else

Yeah, Id have to look up some #s tomorrow, but it is doing pretty good. Not mustang good, but lately no car that has a soul has does as well as the stang, so that wasnt neccesary for this to be a success.

We’ll see what kind of response Chevy gets with the Camaro next week. Hopefully they did some redesign on the pictures that got leaked.

I’m sure some pics will get leaked to the web before Detroit.

BTW, found more pics. Added to my site:

I remember when I first showed my grandfather pictures of the 300C (spy pictures, then I think the official photos). He said he was going to go back to Chrysler when they came out (he had always bought Chrysler products before, but decided to buy buicks one time–yuck).

Then he died :frowning: argh. But at least Chrysler seems to be introducing cars people will actually want (the Caliber actually looks kind of neat, too).
