Please god no. DO NOT USE Limewire. I mean unless you like Trojans and Spyware, not to mention you are basically opening up a highway to anyone who wants to look at information on your computer.
Using a torrents style downloader is safer but still has its flaws. It is what I use.

Things liek Limewire/Frostwire etc… is perfectly safe as long as your not downloading things all over the place, when you search for songs make sure everything adds up… The size for the song, the name, and the bit rate at which it plays…
I’ve been using limewire for 2-3 years without getting anything, ive been using frostwire over the past year as the same deal.
ive been using limewire for 3 yrs on my mac with zero issues, it’s still as quick as the day i bought it and i get one pop up every 4 months lol. i dunno if you can still have spyware/whatever without “symptoms”, but i have none.
Thats because the chance of you getting viruses/spyware is a lot less running MAC…Thats not to say there not out there so be carefull
i know i always make sure the kb and bitrate or whatever arent way too low or way to high for the length of the song

I get 90% Soulseek, 5% Torrents, 4% directly from DJ’s or the artists themselves, 1% from friends.

ill be honest with ya irc is probly the best place, but ever since itunes came out i dont pirate music or movies anymore… i can get a movie for 14 dollars before it hits dvd, i can rent one for 3 dollars (renting is sort of fucking stupid when you can own the movie for 14 vs paying 12 to see it once at the theater) just my two cents, 99 cent songs 14 dollar movies, 2.99 for a tv show… cant really complain about that. but defiantly check out irc use the mirc client found at mirc.com

i use a 5 year old version of bearshare that i always decline upgrading when available because the new ones have all sorts of other crap with it. no spyware/adware. i dont share shit. speed is always fast 1MB/s usually download a typical sond in 10 seconds.
