So I decided to sell the 79 Triumph that I bought about 2 months ago from a guy in Pittsburgh. In hindsight, I should have kept it as it was stupid clean, just needed re-assembly. Whatever, it’s now going about as far away in the world as it can go, short of Antarctica.
After JUST missing out on a 75 Trident T-160 near Syracuse, I found something the same day on Craigslist in NH so it wasn’t all bad I suppose.
Got up bright and early Sunday morning to make the trip to Merrimack NH. Somewhere in New York on 90E
When I got to about Little Falls, I was shocked by how mountainous it was. The area where NY and Mass border was really hilly. Surprised me as I always think of Lowell when I hear Mass.
Couldn’t do everything myself so I brought along a helper. Must have been on his Union break…
I guess that’s not such a bad thing when this many miles are done in one day
In the end, it was all worth it as this was what came home with us
73 Commando Interstate. It was sitting for about 20 years. Guy I bought it from tossed in new pistons, rings, single Mikuni carb, electric ignition, and rode it for a few months before selling it. It runs like a raped ape, sounds like fire and brimstone, and apparently likes to run out of fuel when the tank still has 3" in it. Whatever. And now that I have a riding bike that isn’t blown up, it’s going to rain for 5 days. Just doing my part to help with our current rain shortage:tup:
