I used a hobart flux cored unfortunately, i cant afford the bottle but if they rust through i will just get new caravan fenders or go with the BMW widebody like racesilvia’s s12. I’m not too worried about it, the shell was cheap, all my money went into motor and suspension.
I still have the old CA18et sitting at my house. I’ve used some vacuum lines and vacuum T’s from it and i had to cut a recirculation pipe off the turbo piping cause i didnt have any for my intercooler piping. Other than that its in mint shape, an exhaust gasket leak and only 120, 000km. Still not sure what the hell im going to do with it.
Thats one thing about this project, i cheaped out on anywhere i could that it wouldnt matter so much, like intercooler piping, exhaust piping, bodywork. All cash is in the parts that count. Either way its exactly how i wanted it to be.
well planning was a matter of a month or so… and saving, i dont know what that word means… haha i have a decent job and all my paychecks have gone into it so far.
good work! i use to have a 87 turbo, that i ca18det swapped with t28 & hks cams etc unfortunately it didn’t last very long… so maybe i have a heavy foot haha…
anyways im back to s13s temporarily, did an rb25 coupe for my beater… thinking of a similar quarter mod for that one… though id also be making it an 80s race box style widebody…
if you like 80s race box style check out this guys site. They are some type of BMW widebody fibreglass flares he used and they suited the s12 well so they would probably suit the s13 nicely if you wanted to go for a more square look.
