You really think the 240 is better in stock form than an Integra? I love these cars to death, but I have to say the 'Teg has an edge. The stock 240 understeers like a bastard and the chassis is nowhere near as rigid as an Integra!
Considering we have a longer/wider wheel base, and 240 was designed with (at the time) performance suspension by McPherson
Wow sorry but you are so far off. Integra is a grocery getter with double wishbone at every corner? I’ve driven a million 240’s and integras and the nissan suspension blows. The 240sx needs quite a bit of work to become a “good handling” car. By the way I am not biased at all, I like both cars…just in different ways.
SDP only speaks the truth, ill take his word on it
Nice 240, we’ll have to have a 240 meet in schenectady this spring/summer.
looks good man!
Nice low buck 240 you got there… KA-T can be pretty solid no doubt. Hoping to see this car up here sometime.
vrooooom bump
i looked at your last 8 posts, all your typing is bump. Atleast switch it up when you post whore!
hahahahhhahaha shhh im bored
me 2, but atleast when im bored i get drunk and say random things :lmao
MacPherson struts SUCK. double wishbone/ on shock is a much MUCH better design, advantage, honda. struts are compact and simple to work with, BUT, big BUT there, they dont over the range of motion, response, or adjustability of a shock, not to mention, finding short body struts is not as easy, and its expensive… unless you like riding the bumpstops and having no compression, or rebound to work with because the strut is bottomed out
2 simple solutions to this problem.
- if your to cheap to buy a full coilover setup with shorter strut bodies you can remove the brake hose ring and move the strut down in the fork 3/4inch. and mount the brake hoses to the outside of the strut body higher up.
- section the top hat and weld in an extension from tube stock.
overall ive seen a gain of 3inchs in shock travel from these methods. its simple and cheap.
i would never use an ebay or any cheap type of coilover…safety/quality over cost… and cutting strut tower might lower you, but if you dontre align the suspenison properly, your entire roll center and the general geometry of your suspension will be off… again, safety/quality over cost
reading owns you lol. TOP HAT!!! not strut tower. its doublewishbone you can lengthen your tophat without messing up any suspension geometry. plus it still gives you more shock travel even on a namebrand lowering springs. its honestly a simple and good idea.
ok no need to act childish and through out mad l33t on me and say reading pwnd J00 or whatever people say these days, simply read past it, this is a dying argument, point is, MacPherson struts suck, someone said they are good… they are good at stock travel, stock height, but without shortened bodies they are highly limited, and a proper strut setup costs a bit more than the shock would.i wish my car didnt have struts in the front, but you cant have everything.
also i dont own a 240sx or a honda of any sorts, so i dont deal with that suspension layout, i have a macpherson based coilover, with a remote moted rear shock and a spring/perch design on a trailing arm… they suck, but they do the job. H&R/ bilstein coilovers… they work.
and even better is how toyota designed my suspension on my daily, front/rear strut, multi-link. its stupid… hondas up until 2001-02 had awesome suspension design, far superior to most cars still today
i would have to agree. and its 2001-present that they converted to macphearson strut. it really pissed me off when i found out. why change something that was successfully used from 1988-2000 unchanged. the suspension setups are the same. i do own a 240 and its the first macphearson ive owned. honestly i can deal with it. its double wishbone rear so its at least not as bad as a VW. it always scared me a little how that is setup. my buddies springs flopped out on his mk4 one day. he also forgot the retainers i believe. although the advantage of Mac. up front is the easy adjustment of camber and the lack of an upperball joint that can go bad.
lol guess bmw’s a bunch of idiots the e36 is macpherson front struts/multi link rear, so our cars must suck really hard handling wise, not to mention when theyre lowered theyre EVEN WORSE!
??? :rofl :wow
