Just picked her up yesterday and so far I am absolutely loving it. To do list is VERY small since it’s technically the wife’s car… lol.
LED interior lighting upgrade. I think the halogen lighting makes it look cheap… LED should clean it up nicely.
Activating / changing a few Vag-com features. Have a list of about 18 different options I want to look into. A few include comfort closure windows (windows by remote), video in motion (dvd player bypass), 6 light salute (low and fog lights on with high beams), DRL control through MMI, and a few other small things.
Possibly putting some KKD Garage joints (formerly Gearhead Joints… lol) in the fog lights to match the headlights.
Down-grading to a 17" wheel (Porsche wheels are pretty much my only option) to save on tires. 17" tires are on average $50-$100 less per tire than the 18’s. Still arguing with the wife on color. I want matte black for the wheels, but she doesn’t like it… she’s wrong… lol.
This is going to be the new tow rig for the bikes. The 7700lb tow rating is far above and beyond any other SUV option and I’ll still get 20+mpg… lol. The upgraded brakes will also be very useful in stopping the trailer (no brakes on the motorcycle trailer). So far we are loving this thing!
Only way you can pull off a matte wheel on this is with 19"-20" wheels and tinted windows. (Since you want to downsize to save on tires, this doesn’t work lol)
Nice car Kenny, I use to work for Langan befor they sold the place to Debrie then he got in trouble and Billy grabbed it… Leave it alone it is a sharp looking car the way it is. And if its Kyra’s car why spend the out of pocket cash if she’s happy with it the way it is…Man you just got to learn a happy wife is a happy life. The only reason for changing out the wheels was cost savings on tires… and it won’t be done until we need new tires. I figured since I was replacing the wheels anyways, I’d get the black, but I’m torn. I love black wheels but I’m thinking maybe they wouldn’t quite look right. I just absolutely hate gray wheels, they look too plain. Maybe I’ll do a slightly darker gray or something… who knows.
We missed out on the clubs / bike / kayak promotion by a couple days. Chris tried getting us set up with some left overs, but no go. Not a big deal to me, I wouldn’t have anywhere to put them anyways… lol.
the reason i say no to black wheels is i can’t stand factory wheels painted black as the only mod to a vehicle, just makes them look cheap to me, doesn’t matter if they are not factory to the vehicle. it is very hard to do black wheels and not look like you’re half assing it because everyone does black wheels, and almost all of them half ass it and just make their car look like ass, making it harder to do black wheels and not look like shit.
Im not a big fan of Black wheels (but its your car and who am I to say)to me you can have black wheels if you dont clean the brake dust off…Just saying… Now if its a high gloss black with some chrome accents to me that shows well. I agree with slwrthnu I see alot of wheels painted flat black and it looks like ass…Bill
