Sounds like the tax break passed, although he said construction would start at the beginning of 2004 but obviously nothing has happened yet :dunno: I would love to live in there, with 300 lofts that place would be awesome

Sorry jake, cant send it to you. There’s money invoved in this research. All the info is public. Basically its just a Narrative for historic significance, architectural description, building information, assesment of its integrity. blablabla.

Right now, they still cant get enough investors. Everything is on the DL.

i would love to live in this building too. Wait til the economy picks up and people start wanting to live in the city instead of the cushy suberbs, and then the plans will go through.

What do you want to know about the building? It used to be one of the most dagerous places to work in the city cause it blows up every 10-15 years. They make cork, it is carved out from the bark of a tree. the whole process makes a shit load of dust that his highly flamable. thats why they have that no somking sign outside.

  1. City Tax
-Taxes aren’t that much more. I can drive to work in 10 minutes, whereas people i work with have to drive over an hour to get to the suburbs during rush hour. The extra mileage and gas costs will add up to a much larger number than city taxes in one year, not to mention the time saved that i can be doing other things rather than sitting in traffic.

  2. Crime
-The city has more crime, but as long as you’re not a dumbass nothing is going to happen. I’ve been living here for 2 years and been a dumbass several times and still nothing has happened to me. The people that have a crime committed against them are the people who live out in the country and leave their car doors unlocked and the keys are left in the ignition. Common sense.

  3. Parking
-I have no problem where i currently live. I have a driveway right behind my house that fits 6 cars comfortably without blocking anyone in. The cork factory is going to have a parking garage for the residents right across the street.

how about schools for kids :greddy2:

oh i’d never live in the city if i had kids. The lofts would be good for the college grad to pre-kid couples.

bzzz wrong.

  1. i work in suburbs now, and even though i drive out 15 miles i still save cause…
    gas < parking pass

  2. car broke into twice since january :dunno: under a street lamp both times

  3. mucho parking tix for which i have no intention of paying. and a couple were total bullshit tix… bumper hanging in crosswalk, hell they just started paving north neville, but didn’t put up signs… as i got there to goto work they were beginning to tow me, i got out, but the 6 cars infront of me were on trucks ready to roll… total bullshit, damn bankrupt city is writing tix like parking infractions will better their credit rating :blanyer: :scared:

:bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

I’m assuming you live in highland park Rookee.
Its a Zoo litterally
