Camera shot spots?

So I’m getting my car by a photographer in the next couple weeks and was looking for some good locations.

I know a couple out this way but dont want to use them.

I work in Schenectady and there seems to be some nice area’s out here, but I thought we could use this thread to share our photo op spots.

CSX Rail Yard in Selkirk, NY
Downtown Albany Environment Agency Parking Garage (right next to I-787)
Downtown Albany Plaza Parking Garage (the one you can see if you stand on the ledge next to the Egg)

Is this legally accessible?

I’ve gone to it many times. You have to use Speeder road or lane or whatever. You’ll see where I shoot on the left half a mile down. Speeder is a private road though. Either side of the tracks off of 396 and you should be okay.

Let me know some time if you want to stop by on a nice saturday and we can do a shoot. My camera is pretty decent (basic point and shoot but I know how to maximize it’s potential). I’d obviously need to know ahead of time so I can wash/wax.

I never understood why people didn’t want to share their camera spots. Like it’s a big secret or something. Were all in the same game here…

Yes, it’s right off erie, look where the map is centered and go into street view.

You’ll see an old run-down factory…that’s the location.

I posted a google to the CSX rail yard. The x at the bottom is the one that is more ‘safe’ to go to. The other one using speeder rd. is kind of private, so go there at your own discretion.

As for the two downtown…here is the one for the Plaza:
