So in june I picked up a pretty beat e30 from a board member for 200 bucks. the car’s body is in pretty good shape minus some rust here and there, but thats expected from a 20 year old car.
the car ran fine, but has a tranny problem. Im just going to replace it with a transmission out of an “I” series 325. The car also came with a open rear diff, which is getting replaced with a LSD with a better gearing ratio
Basically i picked up someones entire turbo kit with some other parts that i pieced together. I ended up getting The turbo, stainless tube headers, Hummer H2 front mount oil cooler, pre tapped oil pan, custom oil setup with filter relocation and an extra 2qt oil filter setup and a custom oil catch can to vent the crankcase. i also acquired a cooling mist water injection kit for use with boost over 7psi (im hoping to run 20lbs) all the charge pipes, and a 2.5 inch stainless downpipe wrapped in heatwrap. i picked up all of this for only $1000 which i feel is a steal.
the turbo is an internally gated t3 with adjustible actuator. .42ar compressor, .48ar exhaust.
i plan on upgrading the t3 to a non ball bearing internally gated holsex hx-35 for more horsepower.
I’m picking up an “i” head/valvetrain later this week from brent strong,
I will also be running a chip so I can happily rev to 7k

the guy who ran this kit previous to me ran it non intercooled and ran it with no BOV. I plan on running a FMIC and I should be ordering a TIAL BOV within the next few weeks.
he ran the oil setup because he ran it non intercooled and it was purely for auto-x, i really dont understand why he needed it, i think he would have been fine without it, im not sure if im going to use it yet or not. when all said and done im really hoping to hit the 350 area.
whats the size of the h2 oil cooler? Im looking to upgrade mine. Any idea what numbers you will be putting down?

if you can see the last pic the injectors are sitting on it, i don’t have exact dimensions but you can kinda get the general idea of how big it is, its pretty reasonable size. as for power im really hoping i can make 350ish, maybe more.

and while you’ve posted in here, what are my best options for front and rear bumpers? i especially need something up front to hide the intercooler from road debris…
that is the WORST welding i have ever seen on a production piece… if you suck at welding that much why not just grind it down afterwards to make it suck less, especially if you are going to go through the time of coating it
What cars does an ‘E30’ reference? I have a friend building a mid-90’s or so 7 series turbo…is this the same setup? It was an inline 6 as well. I apologize in advance as I’m not too familiar with German cars.
