NASCAR 2009- Daytona

ending under rain was a huge let down for the race

agreed. that sucks. I wanted Edwards to win…

for it being nascars biggest race i would have cut half the bull out of the first two hours and started the race earlier or let the race sit under red flag for a little longer…grr what a bad race

x2
every year they have more and more pre race bullshit that is SUPER annoying. if u advertise the race starting at 2pm, then at 2pm they should be dropping the green, they got all morning for that media/pop culture shit

I think i have just about given up on nascar what a waste. I was watching the chili bowl on speed last night way more and better action out of 360 sprint dirt cars than you would ever see in nascar. Wheels up out of the corners is just plain sweet. Im just going to stick to my short track racing.

I tried watching it, i fell asleep then i went and got dinner up the street, then they called it.

Chili Bowl are midgets, not 360 sprints. Anyways nascar is so out of touch from the rest of the circle track community. If it doesn’t race on a short track, then its pretty fucking stupid.

^^ yea you are right im slow LOL

Soo what about the Vickers and Jr incident?

Dale got blocked, went below the line, tried getting back up and clipped him, I don’t think it was as intential as the announcers made it out to be…

Meh, maybe drivers should stop driving with their rear view mirror and It wouldn’t be a problem. Junior had a huge run on him, and there was plenty of time left in the race. You want to block someone, then you have to deal with getting run over from behind, when you take away all of the other drivers room.

What you are leaving out or not understanding is that all of the drivers were racing like it was the last lap because of the impending rain. Also Jr. and Vickers were both racing to be the first car one lap down in order to get the lucky dog if caution came out.

They were both ass hats and their aggressive manuevers at the front of the field took out a lot of contenders. IMHO, I think they were both at fault and it was unfortunate for every one else that was caught up in it.

For everyone who would have like to seen it restarted, did you look at the radar? Rain for at least another 3 hours and then it takes a solid 90 minutes to dry a track that size at night. Racing would not have resumed until around 11:30pm - 12am. That would have been unacceptable for the fans in attendance and the media covering the race.

X2, that was far from intentional. If JR wanted to take him out, it would have been into the grass, not into the field.

Trust me I understand that, and really nascar is the one to blame here. The cars have no passing power outside of the draft on the restrictor plate tracks so what is a driver supposed to do. You get a huge run on someone, go to pass and he slams the door leaving you with two options, to cut back in line and hope you don’t clip him, or to lift and lose 10+ spots because of the nature of the race. Kyle Bush is lucky he didn’t get plowed with all the late minute lane changes, I am surprised it took so long for it to hapen.

short track racing is where it is at. Best racing i seen all week was @ New Symrna not daytona or Volusia
