You’re better off meeting with the DA/Town Atty and working out a plea. You’re not facing anything serious enough to warrant hiring your own atty. Even a public defender bills $90/hr.

If you’re with someone doing it you’re looked at as a thief as well. Just like if you’re with someone while they murder, you’re an accessory to murder. Lesser charge but still not good. How old are you? I stole shit when I was in middle school. If you’re an adult rolling with petty thieves you deserve what you get IMO. If you’re younger take the punishment and learn from your mistake.
