I’m thinking about buying a 95 civic hatchback 5 speed race ready! Just needs front brakes brand new cage comes with seat window net harness everything ready to go racing you just gotta get the brakes. it has the 1.5 L sohc in it with a 5 speed what are some pros and cons to buying this to race in a 4cly divsion at local circle tracks

Do you have any experience with circle track racing? Brakes on the car are easy as can be and pretty cheap. If you do buy it start looking at local junk yards for spare fenders, quarters, wheels, tires, and suspension parts since you will prob be blowing threw them. The 1.5s are usually pretty slow but depending on track should be able to hang no problem if you keep it wound up. Id say look for a 1.6 swap for a little extra go, i doubt the officials will know the diff.
you dont want a 5 speed for circle track, if you have to shift on the straight your going to lose your ass.
if your gonna get this car and cheat dont post about it on the forum. I know the tech guys at 3 of the local tracks and will get you tossed.
