Need to machine 14" rotors

Anybody know of a place locally that can grind a 14" rotor? Cross Drilled/Slotted

i have some uneven pad deposits that i cant get rid of, and my rotors shake WAY tooo much for my liking

I didn’t know you could machine Drilled/Slotted rotors. Sorry I’m no help.

:word:

so, can you?

Yes you can there was a big debate thread on here about it…

Hmm sweet. I guess it would make sense why it’s not a problem. This is just the first time I’ve heard of it.

try napa.

call up SSBC, its a bonus for them being local.

i know they do rotors at our dealership, but i wouldnt know a thing about it. wouldnt any dealership have the ability to do it? is there something special about these besides being drilled/slotted.

ANY machine shop should be able to do it. I can certainly get it done by a few places if you need to… Vipers use 14"ers.

i understand most machine shops can do it, but most wont want to. or will charge too much/take too long to do it… i kind of need a quick turnaround…

Napa told me they could grind down the rotors on my Rover with no problem and they’re 14". I didn’t have them do it though, I bought new ones so i don’t have i don’t have proof of execution.

i would think most places that do trucks can do them, since most truck rotors are that big. however, most places may balk at the fact that they are drillled/slotted, even though it doesnt make a diff

then get some balls and tell them it doesn’t matter. If they insist, then let them know that you won’t hold them responsible if it fails.

Believe it or not, you can be pretty persuasive when others are unsure.

yea, i know…just wanted to find somebody that has been used before with D/S rotors how much does napa charge anyways?

Call up NAPA on Wherle. They did a nice job for me.

I worked at an independant napa and it was 15 for a car and 20 for a truck. I would assume a corporate store would have similar pricing.
