Dear Pittspeeders,
Will black rims with a polished lip look too funny on a yellow 350z? There are some really cheap 19’s on tirerack right now, but I am not too sure how I feel about rocking the Steelers look.
They are almost too cheap to pass up, but I am loving them so much.

I vote no…polished lip wheels always look smaller than they really are. The best color combo I’ve seen yet on a yellow Z is a matte silver, like 5zigen FNor-1C or Axis, or even an Enkei RPF-01 look fantastic on that car.
Eh, I like em. And if they dont look right when you toss them on, you saved enough $ on them to get them powdercoated any color you want anyways.
Now that you say that, I think the polished lip making them look smaller is what was turning me off from them. Couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Not that the Tirerack simulator is that great and they don’t have yellow, but something just doesn’t seem right. Hmm…$99 for a 19X9.5 though is tempting, even just to buy them then powdercoat.
I dunno, think about it…99 bucks for a 19" wheel is too cheap to be trusted. No sense in buying wheels twice is there?

I disagree. If you buy them cheap, chances are you aren’t the only one that will kknow they can be had at that price new. Factor in de-mounting and re-mounting for whatever you get next…I don’t think you’ll profit much. I run Rota’s (as opposed to real SW388’s) so I am a proponent of cheap wheels, I think a cheap-ass 19" will be heavy and weak, far inferior to your OEM wheels.

I know they aren’t Volk’s but they really aren’t some totally off brand. Tirerack has sold tons of ASA wheels over the years. They are over 50% off on clearance so that is why they are so cheap. Tirerack doesn’t sell too much junk. Call me a ricer if you want, but I won’t be showing up to autoX on them.
are you sure it has an offset that is going to look good on the Z? Some wheels really look bad on them if the offset isn’t aggressive enough.
