New computer Email issue

Just purchased a new laptop, getting it all set up. Hate vista. Well I cant get to Gmail, though the link or by going to google. Then I cant get to my mail at mail.gcn.cx. Cant log into Yahoo! or go through the mail link, but I can check the weather and news and all that. Cant get to hotmail.

Why is this computer blocking mail links?

When I go to Gmail, it acts like its going to open, then fails. Hotmail lets me login then fails, mail.gcn.cx fails right away, as does Yahoo! when I try to log in or click the mail links.

Opera 9.64 (Never had any issues with opera on my oldass dell latitude running XP)

Edit, cant get on Myspace or Facebook either.
Cant log into Hulu either

Did you bring it to work or something?

Did it come with some sort of “child protection” software/firewall software pre-installed and configured?

It sounds like a firewall to me.

if you don’t have it setup yet, just re-format it

put the windows disc in, wipe it clean, install windows, install drivers. Then load up your own programs.

I called toshiba, they had me go into msconfig and uncheck load start up items, that seems to of worked
