yo, wish i had the time to do that job for you, seriously, its f-n easy. too bad i’m doing a ton of work on this guys civic right now. :
Seriously, it’s extremely easy. All simple bolt ons. I have the entire front end off my white car at at least 2-3 times a year, I can do it in my sleep. We’re in the same boat tho, not enough time lately. I’d rather have it fixed and back in the driveway so I dont have to drive the Expedition gas guzzling tank anymore.
And since your a German car fan, torx bits and allen bolts dont scare you! :lol I had a Corvette guy help me work in my engine bay a few weeks ago, he was freaked out.
lol, yeah time is in short supply for me right now. i am doing a complete suspension refresh (shocks, springs all new urethane bushings,) and a clutch in this civic. i’m kinda pissed cuz i need/ i’d love to be wrenching on my bimmer right now. :wtf i have new adj. lca’s, urethane diff/ shock mounts, and urethane rtab’s to do on it. hopefully before this spring.
yeah, the allen’s especially are so common in these cars, i think the first thing anybody should buy if they want to work on one is a set of allen sockets. ;D
the front end on these cars is extremely easy, no doubt. all you need is something to get the stupid pop clips under the bumper trim, and an 8mm socket for the porkchops/ fogs, etc… simple. anyway, good luck on the repairs. i’m in e36 withdrawl right now. :sad
I should post pictures of the white car’s front end. The bumper and underpanel (aluminum) are all one piece, held on by the 4 bumper cover front nuts and two clevis pins. After that it’s just the rad support.
Makes it easy to get it up on the trailer if it wont fit w/ the splitter on.
whoa…pics please
Yeah Bitch. Oops. These are mine, not his.
wtf i want
nice underpanel! i was going to make my own rather than pick up a JTD or anything. i was also very keen on the idea of somewhat a quick release bumper too, since with my reiger lip i’m like 1 1/2" off the ground up front. please share some pics, i could use a few ideas. i was also looking at some of the nice fasteners that coast fab. sells. they got some pretty sweet stuff.
haha pete?
Germanmuscle- Who are you? Do you have an E36?
Here’s my front end, sorry no pics of the underpanel/bumper setup. I have to take it off soon for motor swap so I’ll take a few pictures.
It will make it onto most trailers with it on if you use enough ramps, but it’s often off for various reasons. Maintenance being one of them.
Dirty car courtesy of the mountain trail you have to traverse to get into Mont Tremblant’s paddock.
yeah, i have an e36. i am the guy that you got that airbox from. ben’s buddy. looks like the reiger lip? i have one too, but in c.f.
needs paint, but a bunch more suspension mods are coming first.
Oh cool, thanks again for the airbox. It’s on Bambislayer right now.
It’s a Reiger cup, but beefed up from the underside so it will actually function at high speeds. The badass Max Velocity splitters are nice but they take the whole bumper cover with it if you do any…agricultural track driving…which I’ve been known to do sometimes.
bambislayer :rofl
wuttup pete
i wish i had the money for those right now. so sexy.
Got the official estimate: $3594.xx. Who’s the winner?
The estimate from the parts guys was a little ambitious, but I’m glad its cheap and will be done soon.
