Hey everyone, I was pointed this way from some members who are on thridgen.org. I just moved out here last week from Rhode Island, and before that I lived in Florida for a long, long time. I’m a food technologist over at Heinz and am really enjoying this town. I went over to Saddle Ridge last night and even though I didn’t know anyone, I had a blast. The drink specials here are awesome.
Since I’m not writing a personal, on with the car!
1988 Pontiac Trans Am. Bought with 62k from original owner, now has 92k.
Under hood I’ve got a decently modded TBI. Its got the Silverado style closed intake, Edelbrock Preformer intake manifold, rockers, full MSD ignition, 3inch exhaust from headers back, a thoroughly built 700R4 with 2800 stall, and (sadly) a 2.73 posi axle out back.
I don’t have any real plans for it beyond an axle and headers. I’m kicking around the idea of swapping an LSx, but I’m not sure how serious I am about it. I think another car is in the works…
I want to get to know some people in the area so I’ll be checking out posted meets. I also wrench for beer and/or pizza- both of which I’ll supply if you were to work on my car too. Anytime anyone is interested in watching the game, I’ve got the Sports Package in HD.
Also, if you have a winter car you can sell me for under a grand, leave a message!
88 Formula 350. Not too much done to it. Hopefully I can get the body work and paint done this winter. I also have a 66 AMC Ambassador I’m working on right now.
I’m replacing the rusted out cowl at the moment. The block is at the machine shop getting cleaned and honed. I’m putting an amc 327 from a 65 Marlin in place of the 287 it came with. Its a four door but I like it. There are some photos at the flickr link above. I haven’t put any recent photos on the computer yet. I hope to have it somewhat mobile by the end of the month. I dont want to take the firebird apart until the amc is at least able to drive up and down the driveway.
This is the car as I picked it up. Those are a couple of friends.
I’m fortunate enough to have a boss with a 5000 sq. ft. garage with an apartment in it. Its nice to be that close to my bed and beer when working on the cars.
